Back to non-English music, Québécois band Malajube has a new album. Their 2006 album, Trompe-l’œil, was instantly accessible, and had a sort of cacophonous indiepop sound. Labyrinthes, their latest effort, has a different feel. It’s slightly less pop, and the songs seem more complex. After a first listen there’s no one standout ultra pop song, like Montréal -40°C was on the last album. Still, this album is rewarding if you give it repeated listens.
