3: Mer de Noms by A Perfect Circle
If I had to choose three albums to listen to for the rest of my life, this would probably be one of them. I think the lumping of APC in the ‘mainstream alternative rock’ category is quite unfair. This band didn’t come about and write songs for record label execs hoping to make a quick buck. Billy Howerdel (song writer) is very talented, and I think that shows in many of these songs. I’m not arguing that APC has beentremendously influential, or changed music somehow, or anything of that sort. This album just means a lot to me, I still listen to it all the time. Well written songs that tackle interesting themes lyrically.
